Australasian Junior Debate Championships 2023
The Australasian Junior Debate Championships is an annual regional debating tournament for elementary school students aged 7-13 in the Asia Pacific region. The tournament adheres to the Junior World Schools Debating Championships (Junior WSDC) Debating format. In this format, participants are challenged to craft compelling arguments within a 30-minute preparation period. These arguments are presented in their 4-minute substantive speeches and supported by their 3-minute reply speech. This competition is held every year in November, with participation from Australia, New Zealand, South Korea, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macau, China and Japan, among others. As the largest elementary-level debate competition in the Asia Pacific region, we aim to enhance the eloquence and debating performance of junior debaters. This improvement is facilitated by a rigorous evaluation process conducted by a panel of accomplished debate specialists. In the 2023 edition of this championship, we feature acclaimed debaters and adjudicators from around the world to inspire and nurture the development and excellence of the participants.
