Teach Online

1. What are the technical requirements to teach online?

If you’re looking to up your game in your online teaching environment, you’ll likely need to experiment to hone in on the perfect arrangement and gear for your teaching needs. You’ll want to prioritize:
1.
Enhancing your internet connectivity: by testing your speed, moving closer to your router, plugging into your router with an ethernet cable, or upgrading your plan.
2.
Access to Zoom/Google Classroom: Create your zoom/google classroom account to enable students to attend online classes.
3.
Making your lessons look amazing: using a webcam, or if you want to get fancy, get two webcams, using ManyCam to create multiple angles in your Zoom classes and lessons.
4.
Lighting your lessons so you show up: using lamps or upping your game with a ring light or other professional lighting tool.
5.
Making your lessons sound great: using either a simple headset, a USB mic, or a USB interface that will allow you to plug all your sound into your computer.
Remember, you don’t need fancy equipment to teach amazing and memorable lessons online, but the equipment and strategies above will make your job easier, and will help keep your lessons accessible and enjoyable for both you and your students. Teaching online can be challenging.
Hey, you got this!
But with a little preparation, you can create an educational experience that’s rewarding for both you and your students.

A cancellation charge of up to 10% can be levied if the program has received booking(s).

Technical Assistance

1. How to troubleshoot technical difficulties?

Are you experiencing technical difficulties exploring EduDrift?
You will only receive earnings for classes if it takes place as scheduled, so we strongly advise testing your camera, microphone, and internet speed prior to teaching your first class.
If students are unable to see or hear you in class, review each step below to resolve the issue.
First, check which web browser you are using.
EduDrift is only compatible with the following internet browsers on a desktop or laptop computer:
1. Google Chrome
2. Mozilla Firefox
3. Safari (limited share screen functionality)
We recommend switching to a different web browser if you are unable to successfully connect using one of the above. You may find that one browser will work better for you than another.
Second, check for available updates for your web browser and clear cached files and cookies.
Check to see if your web browser is up-to-date and regularly clear cached files and cookies to ensure your browser is running optimally.
Third, close any other applications or browser windows that may have access to your camera or microphone. You may have to restart your device to clear the settings.
If you are still unable to connect your audio or video, another application or tab may have access to your camera and microphone. Restarting your computer will typically resolve this issue.
Finally, check and see if your device itself has an available update.
Always check and see if your device itself has an available update. These may take a while to install, so we recommend having updates installed automatically on your computer.
If the 3 steps above do not resolve your technical issues...
Please do not share links to other platforms. If you are still unable to connect under any supported internet browser, you may need to use another device to teach group classes.
Contact EduDrift
immediately if you are unable to teach a class due to technical difficulties so we can notify students who attended. If you are aware that you are unable to teach at least one hour prior to the scheduled start time, cancel the program from your account.
